Boston Bar School & Community Program

This school-based program provides essential social and emotional support to Kindergarten through Grade 12 students at Boston Bar Elementary Secondary School. It is designed to ensure students have the support they need to thrive academically and personally.

The goals of the program include:

  • Equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to navigate social challenges and peer pressures in their community.
  • Empowering parents with tools to guide their children in making positive life choices.
  • Strengthening partnerships between schools, community organizations, and families to create a comprehensive support network for every child.
  • The program uses engaging play and creative activities to help students build positive connections and explore important topics, such as family changes, communication skills, building friendships, expressing emotions, self-care, and handling grief.

Through these efforts, we aim to foster nurturing environments where students can grow, learn, and develop the resilience to face life’s challenges.

Students can access one-on-one counselling and family support and participate in various group activities led by the compassionate Cedar Strong team. Additionally, class presentations are available on key topics like healthy relationships, effective communication, and understanding emotions.
