School-based anti-violence program
Our Violence is Preventable (VIP) Program is a school-based initiative designed to help children and teens understand and prevent violence. It’s offered to all school-aged children in the Fraser-Cascade School District, providing a safe and supportive space for students to learn about healthy relationships and the impact of violence.
What the VIP Program Offers
- Encouraging Social Responsibility: The program teaches students the importance of empathy, respect, and understanding the experiences of others, helping them grow into more compassionate community members.
- Building Awareness: The VIP Program helps students recognize the harmful effects of violence and abuse, whether they experience it at school, at home, in their relationships, or the community.
- Supporting Students Affected by Domestic Violence: This program helps children better understand the challenges faced by peers who have experienced violence at home, creating a foundation for support and understanding.
