Substance Use Prevention & Health Promotion Program

Our school-based program supports children, youth, and their families with substance use prevention, early support, and health education. We work with community partners to help young people build the skills they need for a healthier, stronger future.

What the Program Offers:

  • Direct-Study Support: Personalized help for students identified with substance use challenges, offering focused guidance and resources.
  • Support Groups: Safe spaces for youth to build life skills, problem-solving abilities, and strong relationships with peers and family while learning about substance use and healthy choices.
  • School Health Guidance: Assistance with developing school health policies and initiatives that address drug and alcohol use.
  • Classroom Presentations: Engaging sessions that educate students on drug and alcohol prevention, offering practical alternatives and healthier paths.
  • Referrals for Extra Support: Connections to additional services for youth and their families who need ongoing assistance.
This program is about creating a safe, supportive environment for young people to thrive in school and beyond.

This program is for school staff, students, and families and offers guidance on preventing and addressing substance use. It aims to reduce the impact of alcohol and drug issues in schools and the broader community by providing early support and encouraging healthier choices.
