Gerry Dyble
Gerry Dyble has been the Executive Director for Cedar Strong Prevention and Intervention Society since it was a small nonprofit in 1998, Gerry with the support of her team and Board of Director’s has grown the agency into the largest nonprofit in Fraser East. Holding a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, she has an eye to business and understands social issues and the complexities and challenges faced by many. She has held various Provincial committee and Board positions, advocating for rural and remote communities. She spent 7 years as a District of Hope Councilor, using the knowledge and networks gained through local politics she continues to raise difficult conversations within the community and bring forth emerging issues to local, Provincial and Federal delegates.

Soraya Duncan
Soraya Duncan has been with Cedar Strong Prevention and Intervention Society since May 2015. Soraya was born in Manitoba and moved to Hope, B.C. in her youth where she still currently resides. Her adult career began in Vancouver, B.C. in the accounting industry. After living in North Vancouver for 12 years she decided to leave the city to continue her career journey back to her hometown in Hope, B.C. She managed the solid waste & recycling contracts for the District of Hope and the Fraser Valley Regional District for 20 years. In that time, she met her husband of 30 years and raised two beautiful children. Soraya returned to UFV to gain her certification in Human Resources to gain a more applied understanding of how to organize people today. Soraya is passionate about her role as Finance Manager with Cedar Strong by supporting the staff and Management Team and keeping the Societies’ affairs in order. When not at work, Soraya enjoys travelling, spending time with family and just enjoying life.

Mandy Paisley
Mandy made the transatlantic move from Scotland to Canada with her family in 2009. With a history of professional experiences spanning both her homeland and the Canadian nonprofit landscape, Mandy offers a unique fusion of international community service management expertise. Throughout her career, she has held pivotal leadership roles within respected organizations such as the YMCA, Community Services, and managed various local charities. Along the way, Mandy has cultivated a deep understanding of labor law and Human Resources. Outside of work, Mandy finds joy in the company of her three adult children, her partner, and trio of energetic canine friends. Enjoying the Canadian great outdoors, she enjoys activities including walks and bike rides. Mandy’s commitment to social services and community needs are what drives her in her role supporting staff in their important positions at Cedar Strong Prevention and Intervention Society.

Allison Paterson
A seasoned professional with a wealth of experience, Allison has dedicated over two decades to delivering compassionate, frontline services across diverse healthcare and office settings. Originally from Montreal, Allison came to Hope via Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. She joined the Cedar Strong Prevention & Intervention Society in February 2008 after seven years in geriatric care. Throughout her career, Allison has filled a wide variety of roles, from Office Manager to Substance Use Counselor, showcasing her adaptability and commitment to serving her community. In July 2023, Allison’s talents were recognized with her appointment as the Manager of Outreach Services at Cedar Strong. Appreciated for her diplomacy and trauma-informed approach, Allison is driven by a passion for promoting dignity, humility, and respect in her work with people. With formal education from UFV, JIBC, and the Satir Institute, she brings a wealth of expertise to her leadership role, where she aspires to support and empower her dynamic, diverse Outreach Team. When not working, Allison finds comfort with family and books and endeavors to travel whenever possible.

Sam Kelley
Sam has been part of the Cedar Strong Prevention and Intervention Society since 2019, initially joining as a Key Worker and now serving as the Program Manager for Family and Youth Services. With a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Youth Care, Sam’s career in social services spans a range of roles across the Fraser Valley, each of which has deepened her expertise in navigating complex systems and honed her advocacy skills. Throughout her career, Sam has demonstrated a deep commitment to serving her community, one that she has called home for much of her life. She is dedicated to creating positive, lasting changes, especially for children, youth, and families. Her advocacy extends beyond professional duty, as she is deeply passionate about empowering individuals and families to overcome challenges and achieve their goals. Now a proud mother, Sam, is raising her family in the same community where she grew up, and her dedication to making a difference remains stronger than ever. Her work is grounded in a feminist perspective and guided by a commitment to strength-based, collaborative, and trauma-informed approaches. She believes in walking alongside the people she supports, fostering resilience and supporting healing through empathy, advocacy, and active community engagement.

Anna Gladue
Anna proudly joined the Cedar Strong Prevention and Intervention Society in July 2018 as the Program Coordinator for the Jean Scott Transition House. Living in Hope since 1992 she has spent over 20 years self-employed. Anna has always been very active in the community through her volunteer work and outgoing attitude. Anna’s life experience, heart-centered healing and trauma-informed approach has suited her well in the work she does supporting her staff to support women and their children in this transitional place in their life. Anna’s intersectional feminist views and her passion for advocacy in equity seeking groups has helped her growth in the sector. Anna spends her time away from work in quiet forested places, camping, laying around with her dogs, connecting with the universal energy, and binging reality TV. “Be a good friend, always”

Sam Basaraba
Sam has been working with Cedar Strong Prevention and Intervention Society since summer of 2024. Sam is a Program Coordinator at the House of Hope emergency shelter, bringing nearly a decade of hands-on experience in nonprofit management and community service, with many more years of volunteering. While his field experience informs his approach, he believes firmly in organization and collaboration between management and staff. Sam is passionate about creating a positive environment for both clients and staff, always aiming to make a lasting difference in the lives of those he serves, and cares deeply about those who have nowhere else to go. Though new to working in the community of Hope, he is already committed to creating lasting change here. When not at work, Sam enjoys spending time with his wife, running, going to the gym, reading, painting, and taking his dog for walks.

Brian Dodd
Brian Dodd joined the Cedar Strong Prevention and Intervention team in 2019 as the Emergency Shelter, House of Hope Program Coordinator. For the previous 5 years, Brian was in the positions of Manager of Operations and Interim Executive Director at Seniors Services Society of BC working with seniors who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
After spending over 25 years in television production, Brian chose to move into the nonprofit sector in 2004, primarily focusing on food security and homelessness issues throughout Metro Vancouver. Those passions led him to the Cedar Strong team. Brian tries to spend most of his free time with his kids and grandkids, especially outdoors around Hope. He has had property in Sunshine Valley for 20 years and moved his family there full-time 3 years ago. Look for Brian with his family and camera in the hills above Hope.

Isabel Perez
Isabel has proudly been part of the Cedar Strong Prevention and Intervention Society since Spring of 2018 and is one of the Program Coordinators for the Emergency Shelter Program.
Having overcome her own adversities with stigmatic barriers, her empathic nature and heart for humanity led her to seek ways she could be of service to others. Isabel has organically developed the skills required to take on this current role at Cedar Strong through years of volunteering and then working on the front lines in the shelters. Her favorite aspect of the job will always be establishing meaningful connections with the diverse folks by listening to their stories and supportively walking alongside them while they navigate their personal journeys. She believes that every person deserves safe shelter, nutritious food, clean water, and community supports. Isabel intends to continue being of service in this sector for many years to come and is committed to continue encouraging empathy and excellence in the staff she oversees while they deliver supportive care in the emergency shelter program.
